Advanced Technology
Sandy Springs Endodontics uses a variety of advanced technologies as part of our commitment to providing the highest level of patient care.
Waterlase Laser
Dr. Ball uses a Waterlase laser to enhance endodontic therapy. Using lasers during endodontic therapy has been shown to improve disinfection. Additionally, unlike a dental drill, the laser can be adjusted to selectively remove damaged tissue while leaving tooth structure intact. This allows for a more minimally invasive approach to treating your tooth’s sick nerve. Research also suggests that laser-assisted endodontic therapy results in decreased post-operative discomfort.
3D Imaging (CBCT)
A CBCT is an x-ray machine that takes 3D images. This allows us to observe your tooth and surrounding tissues from every angle in three dimensions, without the limitations and distortions common in two-dimensional imaging. Endodontic therapy is complex, and the CBCT allows us to give you improved diagnosis, treatment planning, and prognosis.
Surgical operating Microscope
The introduction of the surgical microscope has revolutionized the field of endodontic microsurgery. Sandy Springs Endodontics has invested in the very best quality surgical microscopes that provide unparalleled magnification and illumination for our surgical procedures.
Dr. Ball uses a surgical operating microscope for every endodontic procedure, which allows him to be extremely precise during treatment. This precision is further enhanced with “assistant optics.” The dental assistants at Sandy Springs Endodontics observe the procedure under the microscope along with Dr. Ball. This unique setup produces unrivaled precision and synergy, as the assistant can accurately place suction and air/water to further enhance Dr. Ball’s view of the operating field throughout every stage of treatment. This allows for the use of smaller instruments, which helps preserve your natural tooth structure, promoting the long-term strength and health of your teeth.
Digital Radiography
Digital radiographs are safer, faster, and diagnostically more useful in endodontics than conventional film x-rays. Digital radiographs reduce radiation exposure by up to 80% compared to traditional film technology.
TDO Software
Sandy Springs Endodontics uses TDO Software, which is the best endodontic software available. We use TDO to manage all patient records and information in an electronic paperless format. Patients may securely access the our TDO-integrated website to complete medical history and consent forms online before their appointments. The software allows our referring dentists to make referrals and receive their patients’ reports and imaging through a secured HIPAA compliant portal immediately after the patient is seen. This technology enables us to diagnose and treat our patients more efficiently and to communicate more effectively with both the patient and referring general dentist.
